RANCID BIOGRAPHY


Rancid is a punk band that is very strong in influence by reggae music. They stood in the year 1991 in the city of Albany, California, United States. Rancid members Tim Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, Freeman on bass and vocals, and drummer Branden Steineckert.

The band was founded by Tim Armstrong, Matt Freeman and drummer Brett Reed who later came out in 2006 and was replaced by Branden Steineckert. Lars Frederiksen entered into the band in 1993 when the second guitarist for Rancid. Rancid included into California Punk Band with The Offspring and Greenday to revive public interest in the genre of punk rock in the U.S. at the beginning of this famous 90an.Band hits singles titled Ruby Soho, Time Bomb, Salvation, and Fall Back Down.

In 2007 they were working on the album and is predicted to release in 2008 by Hellcat Records. At first, Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman had been playing in ska-punk band named Operation Ivy in 1987 until 1989. When Operation Ivy broke up, they agreed to form a new band that started from a hardcore punk named Generator. They also had formed another band by ska confluence include Downfall and Dance Hall Crashers, but eventually broke up very quickly. In 1991 Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman recruited drummer Brett Reed, who later formed a band we all know by Rancid. And agreed to fly under the record label owned by Bad Religion guitarist, Epitaph Records in the year when Rancid 1993. At the time to write an album that was in the follow-up, Billie Joe Armstrong from Greenday who was a friend of Rancid took part in writing a song called Radio. This makes them participate in a live gig with Rancid. Tim Armstrong had offered to Billy Joe Armstrong to join the permanent members of Rancid, but he prefers to stay in Greenday. Previously Tim Armstrong has also been invited Lars Frederiksen from the UK Subs to join in Rancid as a second guitarist, but he also refused. After Billie Joe Armstrong refused to join Rancid, Lars Frederiksen finally changed his decision and eventually joined the Rancid.Lars Frederiksen on guitar playing with Rancid on the album Let's Go in 1994.

In that year the Offspring are experiencing success on their album Smash which is then invited to tour with Rancid and transmit the success of Rancid. After the success of Rancid Let's Go, they invaded many major labels including Maverick Records. They still agree to work under Epitaph Records, and the following year they had finished their third album release, entitled ... And Out Come The Wolves.

Very quickly this new album has to rival the success of previous album Let's Go. Three singles from the album include Roots Radicals, Time Bomb, Ruby Soho and participating written by a friend named Ryan Taylor who is the ex-drummer Stallion. After a two-year tour for the album ... And Out Come The Wolves, Rancid returned to the studio to record their fourth album Life Will not Wait, which then release a year later. This album is a few branches from the previous album with a combination of punk rock with roots reggae, rockabilly, dub, hip hop, and funk. Because this album is a lot compared to that of The Clash, entitled Sandinistal.

A self-titled album (the album title with the name of the band) Rancid released in 2000 on a record label owned by Tim Armstrong, Hellcat Records, which is a division of Epitaph Records. But this album is less experienced than the album's success - the previous album. After failing to tour in 2001, Rancid returned to the studio with Gurewitz in 2002 to record their sixth album titled Indestructible on the release of 19 August 1993 under the Hellcat Records. Fall Back Down song included on the album charts later occupied the highest in the history of Rancid.
